Gold Woodpecker

The inside and the edges of the Atlantic forest montana (of 750 the 2000 m of altitude), with understory taken by brass knuckles of bamboos; in the subtropical forests in the South. Also attends mesophytic, riparian forests and woods of pines. Lives alone or in pairs. It feeds on insect larvae, hidden under wood.
